I created The Homeschool Gradebook out of a need my wife presented me with while homeschooling our children. She found trying to keep track of assignments, attendance, and more via an Excel spreadsheet or other paper forms to be burdensome and limited — and when looking online, she didn't like what she found, finding existing solutions overly complicated and pricey.

So, with my background in IT/Cyber Security and programming, she asked if I could create something specific for her, so I got to work. I asked her what she was looking for, the types of things she needed to track, and the specific features she thought would be helpful. When I completed this program for her, she suggested that I expand it and offer it to other homeschool parents — because she found it so helpful and thought others might as well.
